Our School has set up a new State of art Computer lab for the use of the students. The newly furnished Computer lab has 20 Computers along with Instructor Computer and a Projector. It has advanced infrastructure in terms of hardware and software which cater to the requirements of the students, teachers and the curriculum. Our Computer lab is an example of client server technology in which instructor can monitor each student’s works through Server computer and student can do their work through client computer. The school is equipped with a dedicated Internet connection for students to get familiar with the Internet.
At St. Xavier’s we combine classroom teaching with laboratory experiments to ensure that our students grasp every concept thoroughly. This way children are able to retain the knowledge for longer when they see the experiments being performed in front of their eyes. To support this approach the school has three purposes built, fully equipped science laboratories. Physics lab is provided with devices like Measuring equipments like Vernier calliper, micrometer screw gauge, measuring tape, Magnetic equipments: Bar magnets, iron fillings for magnetism, Optics: Lenses and Prism, Various magnifiers including magnifier tripod, Laboratory spherometer, Helical spring, Large pulley demonstration set, Spherometer demonstration model, and Electrical Equipments: Rheostats slide wires
The school has a well equipped Mathematics lab available for students to devise convenient methods of analysis and calculation which will provide the solution of the problem to the required accuracy. The laboratory approach allows pupil to set up mathematical experiments for the purpose of discovering some mathematical principles, patterns or process. St. Xavier’s Mathematics laboratory is activity centered and a child is placed in problem solving situation through self-exploration and discovery. Trained and experienced teachers provide both theoretical and practical lessons for students to internalize the basic mathematical concepts through concrete objects and situations.
Children sit at their classroom desk for many hours each day. They are given breaks in between where they go outdoors to the playground. The key to these playgrounds is choice: use the play equipment, run on the field, jump rope, play basketball, volleyball, badminton, carroms, chess, table tennis or create some new game to challenge friends. St. Xavier’s School’s playground provides a safe outdoors environment within the school that stimulates children to use their creative energy in healthy interactions with one another. The school has large, open playgrounds with interesting play equipment that leaves many options for creativity. School provides courts for Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball and Football. Several other indoor games like Chess, Table Tennis, and Carroms are provided.
